John B. Roberts II is a writer, television producer and artist. His most recent book is "Reagan's Cowboys: Inside the 1984 Reelection Campaign's Secret Operation Against Geraldine Ferraro" (McFarland 2020.) "Reagan's Cowboys" was optioned by HBO and is the basis for a scripted televison series currently in development. He is the author of "Rating the First Ladies: The Women Who Influenced the Presidency," (Citadel 2003) and co-author along with Elizabeth Roberts of "Freeing Tibet: 50 Years of Struggle, Resilience and Hope," (AMACOM 2009).
He has written and produced thousands of television broadcasts. He was senior producer of the top-rated, Emmy-nominated television talk shows “The McLaughlin Group” and “John McLaughlin’s One on One.” He produced "John McLaughlin's Special Report," MSNBC's top-rated special on the Clinton impeachment trial. He worked in the Reagan White House and on Reagan's presidential campaigns. An international political consultant, he advised leaders and politicians on five continents. His writing has appeared in the New York Times, Washington Examiner, Washington Post, and Washington Times as well as America's First Freedom, Handgunner Magazine, George Magazine, Guns Magazine Reader's Digest, and The American Spectator.
He is an award-winning artist who works primarily in bronze at present. He has a B.A. in Fine Art from the University of California, Irvine. He has studied at the Miano Academy of Art, the Scottsdale Artists School, and the Bemis School of Art.
Roberts has an M.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.
